I put salt and rinse aid in the washing machine. Actually, I use those 3-in-1 tablets. How do you get rid of streak marks on glasses from a washing machine and how do you prevent them re-occuring?
there is a product around here ( TX ) called ';Lemishine'; You can find it at Wal-Mart. It works GREAT. Just add a little to each load and you wont have any more streaks! How do you get rid of streak marks on glasses from a washing machine and how do you prevent them re-occuring?
Just wash and rinse them by hand. Dish washers scratch the life out of glasses and it only takes a minute to wash them by hand in fairly hot water. Just leave them to drip dry otherwise they get covered in oose of the tea towel.
Save the planet. Get rid of your dishwasher.
It occurred to me that if you're using a 3-in-1 tablet, plus adding salt and rinse aid to your dishwasher, that you might be undermining the benefits in the all-in-one tablet, which also contains those ingredients. I'd certainly think that two applications of the rinse agent, one in the tablet and another from your dispenser, is slight overkill and it might be causing the streaking problem. My suggestion would be to empty out the salt and rinse dispenser, and just use your 3-in-1 tablet.
You may want to turn up your hot water heater a little and then make sure you are drying them with heat, not air.
Think you mean dish washer , try the glass cycle..
glass and silverware (all cutlery really) should be washed in warm soapy water and polished up with a glass cloth (dont rinse) this will make them sparkle the salt in a dishwasher acts as an abrasive and this is what is causing the streaks and also small scratches if you look close enough
You should never put glasses in a dishwasher unless you have a specific glass programme.... Once marked they cannot be put right.
Try using a dishwasher, washing machines are designed to wash clothes :)
Look in your handbook and there will be a section on adjusting the levels of salt and rinse aid, you may have to reduce it slightly, one notch at a time.
