As others have said, you probably have hard water. Pour some white vinegar into the rinse aid dispenser- it works as a great rinse aid because it breaks down the minerals that cause the white stains. It leaves a great shine on the dishes.

One more thing is your water temperature. If your machine has a preheat setting see if it makes a difference. We have noticed that some dishwashing detergents - notably the solids, will leave a residue if the water temperature is too low.
