Do you ever wash your rececling glass stuff in your dishwasher with your dishes before you recycle it?

This is a bet I am makign with my GirlfriendDo you ever wash your rececling glass stuff in your dishwasher with your dishes before you recycle it?
I always wash things before putting them out for recycling. never thought about it before but maybe it is a bit odd.Do you ever wash your rececling glass stuff in your dishwasher with your dishes before you recycle it?
Yes, and no. I don't have a dishwasher, but will occassionally rinse out the glass.
No, I'm too busy washing the rental car before I return it. Or cleaning behind the fridge, just in case someone visiting wants to do a white glove test. Just wrap it up in plastic bag so it doesn't leak, and recycle it. I think your gf is an over the top cleaner. Show this reply to her and say, ';See, I told you so!';. :-)
No, seems a bit silly when they are all going to broken up and ground down when they get there.

I do at times, wash out any residue, just to prevent ants etc, from getting into them, as I wait until I have enough to make the trip to the center.
**** no. let the recycling company deal with it
Yes, I do. I don't like being around dirty things and as long as I've got the washer there I run everything through it. Dishes and such go back into the cabinets, recycling goes into the recycling bin in the garage. I do not archive filth in my home, garage, garden or other immediate surroundings. Maybe others think I'm obsessive. I think they're part of The Great Unwashed.
no no no, when its empty just putit in the recycle bin
Yes, I wash it in the dishwasher if there is room otherwise I rinse in under the tap.
No, glass is recycled by putting it in a big furnace %26amp; melting it down, much the same process as making glass in the first place. Doesn't matter of it's dirty.

Same goes for metal.

The only advantage of washing it is if your council collects as mixed recycleables, then it is not so yacky for the poor sod who has to sort it.
I think that's a great idea! If I had a dishwasher, I would do it with my dishes because I would be using that water anyway. Currently, I rinse it out well, but I am aware that I am using up more water for that, so while I am helping the environment on one level, I am wasting a resource. But I think the recycling company requests that it is rinsed out...
