What's the best way to wash stained glass windows?

Use the vinegar left over from your pickled onion jar. What's the best way to wash stained glass windows?
Stain remover- it's clear to see. What's the best way to wash stained glass windows?
Very carefully.
If you want a professional look go to a stained glass supply shop and buy Neutra 5000, this is a cleaner meant for glass and it neurtal. Then use either a Finishing Compound or an inexpensive car wax like Turtle Wax. Wash the window with neutralizing cleaner and rinse, dry thoroughly. Apply a thin coating of the wax and allow it to dry, polish with a soft cloth. All the lead or solder will polish up to a shine. Use a tooth brush to get dried wax out of crevices.
well it all depends on how big it is.......but with any type of glass i use windex and instead of paper towel i use newspaper...IT gets it way cleaner
We found these great cloths at Wal-Mart called Micro Fiber Wipes..good on all types glass they are super on computer screens too no streaks or lint..
with water and few drops of hair conditioner or u can also use mild shampoo that will work out
You must be VERY careful when cleaning installed stained glass. NEVER use commercial glass cleaners. It will remove the patina on the lead or solder. Warm water on a soft cloth (microfiber is great) with VERY gentle pressure. Over time, stained glass panels warp, which can weaken the integrity of the piece. You should clean each piece of glass in the panel individually, not in a broad wiping motion. A finishing compound will add shine to a piece, but I don't recommend using it on an installed panel, nor would I use it on lead came panels. It is a painstaking and daunting task that makes every stained glass nervous, but if you are VERY gentle, when you are finished, you will be amazed at the difference.
with a waterhose
I have seen many people using outdated (u can use and updated) newspaper for washing out stains from a glass window or other such materials. It helps remove the stains without scratching the glass and causing it visual damage.

U can use a piece of newspaper dipped in little water and then rub over the glass that is to be cleaned. afterwards, use another piece of newspaper to dry it. Use a dry peace this time.
vinegar does an excellent job on glass
My wife uses some Amway product , i not exactly remenber name but its LOC or something like. You can use amwayindia site and find the answr. It ia a good product and cleans the glass.
non-ammonia bases window cleaner

it makes the glass loose its luster and slowly over time eats away at the surface making it look dirty all the time
whit wet newspaper.

It works, try it!
i guess with a spot remover LOL

check out this site and do not use Windex

They should be sturdier than normal windows, in that the glass is individual pieces held together in a giant lattice. So even if one breaks it doesn't mean that the force is transfered to the rest. In other words it's not that fragile, if you're worried about that.

As for how to clean it, appearantly the best possible way to clean glass is with a bucket of water, and drop in a teeny tiny amount of soap(dish soap should work fine). Then use a squeegee, the sponge side to apply and the wipe side to wipe, like you would on your car window. This will keep them very clean.

If this is too tricky because of the window, try applying the solution over the whole window and then rinsing it off.
THROW A ROCK AT IT AND THEN U GET A BROOM AND SWEEP IT UP AND THEN U WONT EVER EVER HAVE THAT PROBLEM EVER EVER AGAIN OK LOL .... DID I GET THE BEST ANSWER
THE BEST THING U CAN DO WITH UR EYES CLOSED IS USE ';colin'; else use pepsi\coke...after pepsi\coke..use ample water...bingo....u get ur glass singing as new
Windex and a paper towel
water diluted vinegar
by using colin we can wash stained glass windows
diluted windex.... half windex and half water... spray it on and wipe with a cotton towel.
hot soapy water
Yeesh... Stained ... that's always a payne in the glass...
warm water with a splah of vinegar and newspaper to buff, this gives a brill shine and works on all types of window, dont do it whilst the sun is shining on them though or they will smear, i do mine either first or last thing, wash hands after though as it is does wonders for the windows but not so great on the hands
Warm mildly soapy (dish detergent-- not the fancy ones with all the extra additives, just a generic dish soap) water. Lint free paper like newsprint, or sparkle. Wash a small area, dry immediately in soft circular motions.
If they are stained glass, why would you want to clean them? Seriosly, maguires makes a cleaning compound for just about everything!
It depends on how you want your final product to look. To do a general clean there is a product called ';Kwikclean'; . It is an all over cleaner and will also clean flux mold (a white powdery substance that accumulates on the solder lines). There is also a product that leaves a high polished coating not unlike car wax. It is called ';finishing compound';. Both products can be found at your local stained glass studio. Or purchased through my website.
if you use windex... make sure you get the kind with no ammonia. This could smear.

I'd suggest going to the car care section of any grocery store and get the car windo cleaner. because so many cars have tints, and most chemicals will take tint off, they're mainly water.

good luck!
