How can I wash wine glasses without getting spots?

Either by hand or dishwasher, always yucky spots and sometimes residue left on wine glasses!! On a few occassions I've broken expensive glass trying to wipe out spots by sticking my hand with towel inside the glass to try wiping after they dry with spots. Any helpful hints? How can I wash wine glasses without getting spots?
dry with a good paper towel. don't stick your hand in just the paper towel. make sure you dry it right away so there are no water spots. How can I wash wine glasses without getting spots?
Over time hard water and dishwasher detergent can pit glass, so first make sure that's not the problem.

Things I've used:

rinse in diluted vinegar and quickly rerinse in plain water then dry immediately with lint free towel.

scrub with a nylon scrubbie and straight vinegar. If you can find a super fine steel wool, use that instead of the scrubbie.

add Calgon powder to the dishwasher.

dilute Calgon powder, rinse in that, quicky plain water rinse and dry immediately.

yep the only way is to dry it with a towel somehow. just bunch up the towel and stick it inside instead of your whole hand.
well only way is to use a dry towel ...
